Things have been changing for us, at My Carolina Town, as well. We were thrilled to be invited to join the planning committee for the South Carolina Strawberry Festival and have been overwhelmingly impressed with the passion, talent and commitment the committee members have demonstrated. The award winning festival, recently won yet another award, from the Municipal Association of South CarolinaSM for communications. Combined with the prestigious 2011 South Carolina Festival of the Year award, won earlier this year, the festival has some very big shoes to fill. Being on the inside and a part of the planning and preparations, we are confident it will do just that. Please stop by our tent at the festival and let us know what you think!
In addition to the excitement surrounding the upcoming events, we are excited to announce upcoming changes to My Carolina Town. We asked the community for input in making our magazine even better, and you have given us some fantastic feedback. We have worked hard to implement our ideas and many of the great ideas you shared. The first change is a new look, with cleaner lines and a more fluid publication. We have increased the number of pages to include additional community news and are also shifting our print schedule from monthly to bimonthly, allowing us to incorporate more of the information shared by local organizations, groups and resources.
We plan to remain a supporting entity for the community and businesses for years to come. The new process will give us more planning time and will allow us to reward our loyal community sponsors by giving double the advertising value, while remaining current and relevant.
Our mission with My Carolina Town is to remain a pillar in the community and promote to the best of our ability the support of local businesses, encouraging residents to stand together and support their neighborhood businesses, thereby supporting the community, wholly.
We hope you enjoy the new look, feel and format. And, as always, appreciate your feedback,
Christa Franse, Mike Szwed, Ellen Hughes, and the rest of the My Carolina Town team
